Reflections of Shamanism Food Rituals to the Present

Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to examine the food rituals of Shamanism and the reflections of these rituals on today's food culture. In line with this purpose, the study emphasizes the importance of food rituals of Shamanism on social solidarity, cultural identity and sustainability of heritage. Document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The collected data were evaluated by descriptive content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was determined that Shamanism food rituals were widely used in the past, many practices were preserved and transferred to the present day, although they were forgotten during the transfer between generations, some of the transferred food rituals were kept alive in a similar way to the original, and some of them underwent some changes as a result of cultural interactions while being transferred between generations, and although such practices are not called Shaman food culture or ritual, they have taken place in food-related activities. Such rituals based on eating and drinking are important for determining the cultural structure and values of past and present societies and gain cultural heritage value through their transmission.
