Determination Of Pricing Strategies in Mobile Games: ODTÜ Teknokent Case

Abstract
This research was conducted to determine and guide strategies that will help firms operating in or planning to enter the mobile gaming sector select the correct pricing methods for the games they develop. During the research's application phase, a focus group interview was chosen as the qualitative data collection method. The interview involved 1 moderator, 1 rapporteur, and 7 representatives from 6 companies operating in METU Technopark. The participants' opinions were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using content analysis methods. According to the findings, appropriate pricing strategies for mobile games are clustered under four main themes: "Team Building Strategies, Game Type Selection Strategies, Game Development Strategies, and Revenue Model Determination Strategies." Each theme is divided into three categories. As a result, the strategies developed within the scope of this study serve as a guiding resource for entrepreneurs operating in or intending to enter the mobile gaming sector.
