Reasons for Increasing Divorce and Early Divorce

Abstract

In last years, there are changing in the family structure and the values of the family. These changes have led to an increase in divorces and an important social problem. When we look at the statistical information about divorce rates is higher first 5 years in marriage. Therefore, the first five years in marriage are named as “critical years”. In this article, by focusing on the topic of divorce and conceptualizing "early divorce", the causes of marriages that ended in the first five years, namely the early divorces, were discussed. marriage and divorce are first of all a legal phenomenon. However, it is not enough to deal with and explain from a legal point of view alone. Because the divorce, which means that the marriage ends legally, also needs to be approved socially. That is why in this study, legal and social causes of generally divorce, especially early divorces were examined under common headings, and it was observed that almost half of divorces took place in the first five years of marriage.
